This interesting shape has three "claw" feet that are hand sculpted on to the body of the shape when it is partially dry. The tall, narrow shape of these planters is traditional to accomodate the needs of Cymbidium species. These orchids grow naturally in hollow trunks of trees where their long roots go deep in narrow cavities. The shape of these planters mimics this and the side holes allow extra air around the roots for a shorter wet-dry cycle. They can also be used with other orchids and are especially nice with plants that have arching or pendant flower spikes. It is currently available in two sizes (shown below) that are perfect for the small cymbidium species. | ||
