This simple, straight-forward planter turns out to be a most versatile shape. I use it for a variety of orchids and also for some caudiciform succulents. It is 8 1/2 in diameter with straight sides and generous drainage holes in the bottom. It is perfect for a grouping of Pleione orchids as shown top left or for a specimen plant such as the Oerstedella centradenia shown below left. If you want to hang it, it can be ordered with holes for a 4-wire hanger. The hanging version was used to grow the specimen of Coelogyne cristata shown at right. When you add extra holes on the side for aeration ('D' shown lower right), this shape becomes a perfect choice for bulbophyllums, laelias and other rambling plants. There is a drip plate available for this shape that is sold separately.
