Angraecum species as "ramosum" #5531 sibling cross ('#3' x '5.29.20')(approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: A few years ago, I bought a flask labeled Angraecum ramosum made with seed from Madagascar. It is a lovely, compact species with good sized flowers relative to the plant. It is reminicent of a minature form of Angraecum germinyanum (which does not grow in Madagascar) and some think it is a form of Angraecum conchoglossum. It branches nicely and has long lasting flowers. Angraecum ramosum is a valid species, but from all I can tell this is definitely not that. All of the seedlings from that flask were consistent which makes me comfortable that it is unlikely to be a hybrid. Culture: I have grown plants of this in a compot with a fine bark mix and also mounted on oak, cork and cedar. They have done well in both intermediate and warm conditions with year round watering and moderate to moderately bright light. |
